Abstract

This study aims to develop English teaching materials on quantifier materials that are feasible to use in learning activities for students in grade VII SMP/MTs. The researcher applied Research and Development method. The development model used in this research is the Plomp model, which consists of five phases, which are: preliminary investigation, design, construction/realization, evaluation, and implementation. In the preliminary investigation phase, data were obtained from student test results related to quantifier materials as well as interviews with teachers about teaching materials needed. The design phase was based on the findings of the previous phase, and continued with the construction/realization phase, in which the prototype of teaching materials was developed. Then, in the evaluation phase, data were collected through a validation rubric filled in by a professional in the field of teaching materials. During the implementation phase, student response questionnaires were used to collect data after the application of the teaching materials. Interviews were also conducted with the English teacher to evaluate the use of the materials in the classroom. This phase involved 30 seventhgrade students and one English teacher as participants. The result of this research is an interactive printed teaching materials for teaching Quantifiers to seventh-grade students of junior high school (SMP/MTs). This teaching materials is designed to be interesting and interactive. It includes various exercises and different learning activities to increase student engagement in the learning process. The materials also provide activities such as reading, listening, and speaking to help students understand the topic better. In addition, many types of exercises and games are added to make the learning process more fun and meaningful.
