Abstract

Based on student’s low understanding of the concept of integer counting operations material, this development research aims to (1) Describe the process of developing valid, practical, and effective Game Car Adventure media to support students' concept understanding on integer operations material (2) Produce interactive learning media based on Game Car Adventure that is valid, practical, and effective to support students' concept understanding on integer operations material. This development research model is the ADDIE model which goes through five stages, namely: (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. Car Adventure Game Media was tested with two trials, namely a limited trial conducted on 6 students of class VI A SD Plus Pesantren Al-Anwar Paculgowang and a field test conducted on 25 students of class VI B SD Plus Pesantren Al-Anwar Paculgowang. The data in this study were obtained using the Car Adventure Game media validation sheet, student response questionnaire, educator response questionnaire, and concept understanding test. In general, the results obtained in this study are Game Car Adventure media on integer counting operation material to support students' understanding of concepts that have met the valid criteria with a percentage of 75%, the practicality of Game Car Adventure media is obtained based on a student response questionnaire with a percentage of 86.15% and an educator response questionnaire with a percentage of 88.46% which means it meets practical criteria. While the effectiveness of the Game Car Adventure is obtained based on the concept understanding test of students with a percentage of 92% which means it meets the effective criteria. Game Car Adventure is also considered very helpful in students' independent learning. Therefore, this Car Adventure Game is expected to be developed better by adding more interesting features, so that students can be more enthusiastic in the learning process and can be distributed to other schools.
