Abstract
This study aims to analyze the kinds of diction, the kinds of translation techniques of diction, and the accuracy of the translation of diction in the English translation of Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Mulk which Abdullah Yusuf Ali translated. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method with context analysis techniques. The data used is the text of Surah Al-Mulk in Arabic and its English translation in the form of a book by Yusuf Ali entitled The Holy Qur'an: Text, Translation and Commentary. Their study chose this data source because this surah contains the theme of monotheizing Allah SWT by describing the perfection of His creation. Besides that, this surah also has 3 virtues for its readers. From this research, 3 diction used in the word about the greatness of Allah in surah Al-Mulk was found. The diction is denotative, connotative, and associative. The translation techniques used in that diction translation are 6 techniques, namely literal translation, established equivalent, generalization, amplification, compensation, and linguistic amplification. the accuracy level of the diction translation is 64.41% accurate with 38 diction, 33.90% less accurate with 20 diction, and 1.69% inaccurate with 1 diction.
