Abstract

In early pregnancy affects the hormonal changes, the changes are the result of an imbalance of estrogen and progesterone that resulted in some complaints of nausea and vomiting, or can be called morning sickness. So it should be avoided given medication or other alternatives to reduce the complaint. Leaf peppermint oil contains menthol atsiril that can alleviate bloating, nausea, vomiting, cramps and contain the effects diusus karminative working fine on the gastrointestinal tract so it can cope with nausea and vomiting. The object of research is the pregnant women in the BPM Salamah Peterongan Jombang. There were 30 samples of pregnant women as respondents. Before being given treatment, variable observed first after the treatment is done and after the treatments were observed. Results of statistical test by using Paired T-Test with SPSS 16.0 p value obtained Paired t test: Result = 0.000 means that there is a significant difference before and after the action, because the p value <0.05. Mean 2600 is positive, meaning a downward trend after a given action. It can be concluded that the administration of peppermint leaves steeping can likely reduce the frequency of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women.
