Abstract

This research was designed to find out the effectiveness of reading aloud technique on students’ reading comprehension in Descriptive text. For the students, reading is one of the important skills in teaching and learning process to master, in this research they had difficulties in comprehending Descriptive text because students who couldn’t understand the material well, they had less of vocabularies and they had difficult to focus on the material. This research was conducted at MA. Nurul Qur’an, the researcher take both of two classes X- Sos A class and X- Sos B class. There were 28 students, 14 students from X-Sos A as experimental class and 14 students from X-Sos B as control class. This research used a quasi – experimental research design. In this research, the researcher did four meetings in every classes. To analyze the data, the researcher used SPSS to measure the significance score of the students. The result showed that students mean score in pretest was 48.8571429 while posttest was 83.2857143. From the result statistical analysis by using independent sample t-test, it obtains that the sig. (2-tailed) 0,001 is lower than 0, 05. So, Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, it means there was significant effect of reading aloud technique on students’ reading comprehension in Descriptive text.
