Abstract
This research explores the strategies employed by an English teacher at Al Munawaroh Islamic Boarding School to develop EFL students’ speaking skills through the Daily English Conversation program is implemented to develop EFL students speaking skill at Al Munawaroh boarding school. using a qualitative case study design, data were collected via semi-structured interviews and classroom observations. The findings indicated that the teacher applied various communicative strategies such as role-play, pair work group discussions, Question & answer, and the use of simple media (flashcards and audio aids). these strategies aimed to address key challenges in EFL classroom. The study also identifies several teaching challenges including low student confidence, excessive reliance on the mother tongue, limited media, linguistic difficulties, varying proficiency levels, and time constraints. In response, the teacher implemented adaptive measures such as simplified instructions, differentiated tasks, modeling techniques, and expanded language exposure beyond the classroom.
