Abstract
This study focuses on analysing the racial discrimination experienced by the main character in the film Hidden Figures 2016. The aims of this study are: (1) to dentify racial discrimination depicted in the film Hidden Figures experienced by the main characters (2) to explain how the main characters deal with racial discrimination. The method used in this analysis is a descriptive method by applying the concept of discrimination. It is used to identify and explain the reasons for the realistic data obtained. The data is in the form of scenes and scripts as supporting some data to represent the actions of racial discrimination experienced by the main character. This study used Pettigrew theory of discrimination and Theodorson & Theodorson theory of Racial discrimination. The result of this studys show that the main character in the film Hidden Figures 2016 experienced direct and indirect racial discrimination, such as segregation of facilities, the salaries obtained by Blacks, double their abilities, and difficulties for Blacks to apply jobs. On the other hand, they responded by demonstrating their greatness through their achievements, developing their skills and showing that Blacks have the same potential as Whites, until they finally received the same recognition and travels as The Whites and were no nobler humiliated by them.
