Abstract

This research aimed to identify the type of teacher’s roles and how the teacher applied the roles that appear in The Ron Clark Story Movie. Teacher’s role is one of the aspects that give the big impact to students successfully in their study. As an educated person, teacher must be aware their roles to increase students development. Through The Ron Clark Story Movie which is based on true story about Ron Clark a successfully teacher in Inner Harlem Elementary School because his Class got higher score than honor class. The researcher identified types of teacher’s roles and describe how the teacher’s applied the roles. The design of this research applied qualitative research to describe the phenomenon in the movie as the object of research. The way to collect data was an observation through watching the movie. Then an observation sheet was used to gather the data. The result showed that there were six teacher’s role found in the movie (the lecture, the clinical of practical teacher, the facilitator learning, mentor, the students assessor, the study guide procedure). Most of the roles were applied by Mr. Clark traditional teaching, creative teaching and guiding procedure. Keywords: Teacher’s roles, Creative teaching, The Ron Clark Story Movie.
