Abstract

Think-Pair-Share Strategy is one of cooperative learning which gives opportunity students to do the assignment in pair. This research analyzed the think-pair-share strategy in teaching narrative text. There are two research problems in this study. The first research problem deals with the implementation of the think-pair-share strategy in teaching speaking. The second question deals with the advantages of think-pair-share strategy in teaching speaking. The method of this research was descriptive qualitative research. To get the data, the researcher did an observation checklist and video recorder when the teacher conducted the teaching and learning process. Then, to support the data analysis the researcher interviewed the teacher as subject research. The result of this study the teacher used some procedures in teaching speaking they are: listening, thinking, pairing and sharing. Then, by using think pair share strategy got advantages during the application of think-pair-share strategy, are: 1. Positive interdependence; 2. Individual accountability; 3. Face to face promotion interaction; 4. Participation and communication. Keyword: Teaching strategy, Think-Pair-Share Strategy
