The objective of this research to know the effectiveness of collaborative method.Especially in reading comprehension on descriptive text. This study was designed to find the effect of collaborative method on reading comprehension especially in descriptive text at MTs 1 Lamongan Filial Sumberbanjar. This research using quasi-experimental research. The samples of the research were two classes. They were chosen randomly. The same level of ability in the students.The first class was the experimental class and the second was control class. In collecting the data, the researcher used test as the instrument. They were pre-test and post-test used to find the students reading comprehension after using collaborative method. From the result of statistical analysis by using independent sample t-test, it is obtained that the sig. (2-tailed) is ,000 lower than 0,05. The result of this study showed that collaborative method was effective as a medium for teaching reading comprehension of descriptive text.
