Abstract

Graded reader is a text or book which controls words, grammar, and vocabularies that facilitate students in reading as supplementary reading material based on the students’ needs and their level. This research aimed to facilitate students of their reading activity and it aimed for the students at Muchosy English Course, so they are able to read easily because they get suitable reading material as their level. This research used Design Research method as the research design. The result showed that the students were able to read easily, understand the whole meaning, but the certain student still found some difficult words, therefore, the teacher as a participant gave an input which was in selection of words more precisely and easier. It could be concluded that the Graded Reader successfully matched to the students’ level. Key words: Reading, Need Analysis, Graded Reader
