Abstract

Vocabulary is one part of language that should be learnt by students, it is because students might feel hard to write, to speak, and to understand someone’s talk without knowing vocabulary. This study aimed at knowing whether there were any significant effect of using pop song as teaching aid on seventh year studens’ vocabulary mastery at Mts Mamba’ul Ulum Corogo. This research used experimental research. The researcher took two classes at the same grade, experimental class was VII A class and controlled class was VII B in MTS Mambau’ul Ulum Corogo. The researcher collected the data by giving a pretest before the treatment and posttest after the treatment. This study showed that using pop song on seventh year studens’ vocabulary mastery at Mts Mamba’ul Ulum Corogo was affective. It was proven by the result of the data analyzed using SPSS. The result for the total score of the test was 0.000 which was lower than 0.5, it can be concluded that H1 was accepted which meant that there was a significant effect of using pop song on students’ vocabulary mastery.
