Abstract

This research was designed to know the effectiveness of quantum teaching on students‟ writing recount text. For the students, writing was one of difficult skills that must be mastered by the students, in this research the problem of the students had low interested in writing skill because they lacked vocabulary, they didn‟t understand well about the grammar especially the changing verb in the past form, and lacked of practicing in writing especially in recount text. This research was conducted at MTs Salafiyah Syafiiyah especially in eighth grade students. This research involved 24 students as the sample, 12 students from control class and 12 students from experimental class. The researcher used quantitative method in quasi experimental research design. In this research, the researcher did three meetings in every classes. The first meeting was pre-test for both classes and continued by treatment (for experimental class) and leaning process (for control class), the second meeting was treatment for experimental class and leaning process (for control class), and the last was treatment (for experimental class) and leaning process (for control class) and post-test for both classes. The research collected the data through pretest and post-test. The result of data showed T-arithmetic > T-table = 3.423 > 0.05 and the Sig. 0.02 < 0.05. It means that Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. So, quantum teaching method was effective because the result showed that there was significant difference of experimental class by using quantum teaching and control class by using conventional class.
